Story of the Mountain (Tribe's Lore)

At the dawn of time Prekas reached down from the heavens. He stirred the waters with his hand until they began to part. He then grabbed hold of the base of the sea and hoisted it up. The land took shape and where he had grabbed the land was the peak of the mountain. He then took his mighty axe and cut down the largest Kilnek tree in the heavens. For the next 3 days he worked without sleep and from the tree he whittled man. He then took the snow from the mountain top and mixed it with the clay underneath to fashion woman. The first man was Fenriir. Prekas made him Master of the Mountain and the Seven blessed him with everything he could desire. Animals for the hunt, a hut to shelter him, fire to keep him warm, peace so that he could sleep, seasons that he might enjoy the beauty, and aberrations that he might know the joys of besting a monster. He praised the seven as did his family. Generation after generation was blessed until one day Fen the Fearless, Fenriir’s great great grandson, attacked an aberration and was killed. His family mourned and grieved his loss. They cursed the name of Ibkux for cursing the mountain. Hated and despised her shrines were torn down and her shamans killed. Ibkux took her revenge and truly cursed the mountain. She sent aberrations to the many family heads descended from Fenriir. They took the forms of other family members and killed all of the heads of the families. This drove many wedges between Fenriir’s descendants who split the tribes. Some retreated to the caves, others to the desert. Some traveled to the base of the mountain and learned how to grow crops and build castles. Some stayed on the mountain but gave up the family name.

For her crime, Ibkux was banished from the heavens. Prekas took her into the heart of the mountain and chained her there for the rest of eternity where she could never torment the people of the mountain ever again.

The mountain inhabitants still swear in the name of the seven, but only werewolf packs, aberration clans, and the Djall still worship the name of Ibkux.
